Ho un pregiudizio positivo verso Franco D’Andrea; sarà perché, oltre a essere un grande pianista, è un uomo molto simpatico. Ciò comunque rileva poco nella constatazione che questo suo nuovissimo piano solo è bello assai. Il disco s’intitola «Today» e dà un’idea molto esatta ed espressiva di dove si trovi oggi la complessa musica del meranese.
Qui D’Andrea scompone e ricompone a propria immagine Giant Steps, poi si astrae in uno studio di cluster, con una scrittura pianistica grosso modo antifonale.

RispondiEliminaQuando un giorno lontano, diciamo fra trent'anni (se avremo la sfortuna di arrivarci, a quel tempo), guarderemo indietro e separeremo il grano dal loglio, sono sicuro che metteremo D'Andrea tra quelli che hanno contato davvero. Da una vita originale, personale, mai facile, sempre stimolante, uno che non smette mai di cercare. Per fortuna riesce sempre a trovare... A trovare quegli spunti che ti costringono a pensare e a districare la matassa. Anteprima clamorosa.
